It
must have been the wettest day of the year, but we managed to measure
the width and depth of the river at the turning points. We established
that there is plenty of room to turn the type of vessel being considered
for use as the Swansea Community Boat, so it was worth the soaking!
We
were very grateful to the Swansea Marina staff for their assistance
- in particular Mike for his boat handling skills that enabled us
to take the measurements and for sharing with us his knowledge of
the River.
In May, the Trust did a survey on the River Tawe to check that it
will be possible to turn a large boat at WHite Rock and Morfa Quay.
Mike Bond, Swansea Marina Harbour Master, took us in the Marina launch.
